We’ve passed the Christmas Break, and the 25/26 season rolls onwards!
Mikey Williams Premier Division
The table has changed somewhat since the last update, as AFC Mancunians now sit fourth. Above them are Manny Sports (third), Wythenshawe FC (second) and South Manchester Athletic (first). With only three points between these teams at the top, the stage is certainly set for the competition to accelerate as we enter the second half of the season.
All teams have played between six and eight games, meaning there are at least six games left for everyone involved. The exception is South Manchester, who are topping the table on just five games – an impressive feat! It’ll be interesting to see what they’re able to achieve with their plentiful games in hand.
At the other end of the table, Dawn Court and Old Trafford Athletic are battling to maintain their top flight spot – each has just three points. It’ll be crunch time for them soon!
Mike Goldstone Division One
At the top of Division One, Burton Road sit first with 27 points. They are being hounded by Bredbins – second, also with 27 points, but two games in hand. Their similar goal differences and win records suggest we could see things heat up as we move into this latter part of the season! Head to head, Bredbins stole a 5-3 win in November, and a 2-1 win in September. Given these are Burton Road’s only losses of the season, it shows a different class at the top of the table!
In third place, on 19 points: Northenden FC. They are followed by Reddish in fourth, also new entrants to the league. Both seem to be making their mark on the competition!
At the other end, Old Trafford Athletic Reserves have failed to pick any points up this season, in spite of valiant efforts. Longford Athletic, having played four more games, are sat one above them on just three points. Finally, Sale Spartans Reserves hold six points. The stage is set to see who can avoid the wooden spoon, and turn things round at this stage of the season!
