Last Sunday saw the final of the Mike McKenzie Memorial Cup, played at Whalley Range AFC.
A showdown between Roe Cross Simmondley Firsts and Chorlton Sports & Social Club saw the latter come out victorious, winning 2-1 in normal time.
This exciting fixture saw both teams put on a great show, and we congratulate Roe Cross Simmondley for getting to the final of a heavily contested competition.
Our congratulations must also, however, go to Chorlton Sports & Social Club for winning the inaugural season of this competition! Although not part of MASFL on a normal weekend, we have been privileged to welcome them into our footballing family this season.
The attendance was recorded at 223 Adults, not including those who were in attendance to support the running of this event!
Furthermore, we extend our thanks to the family of Mike McKenzie who have supported Tony Henderson (our League Chairman), as well as the wider committee, along every step of the way of this competition. Their attendance on Sunday was, as always, a privilege.
Some photos will be made available on our Instagram and Facebook (@manchesterasfl).
MASFL wishes to thank the officials who supported this fixture, appointed in recognition of their consistently exceptional performances over the course of the season.

And finally, we must thank everyone who has made this competition possible. Be it those who attended the final or the teams that participated over the course of the season; the league is honoured to have shared this time with you.
In the wake of heartbreak, it is our common ground that unites us. This, now, is more important than ever.
Thank you to everyone who has made this competition, and this season, possible.
In loving memory of Mike McKenzie.
