The Mike McKenzie Memorial Cup is an annual competition that runs across Greater Manchester, closely supported by MASFL.
In January 2025, we tragically lost Mike McKenzie; a dear friend of the league who was revered in the North West’s football scene. Mike’s legacy is irrefutable. Over his decades-long career, he led various teams to glory, achieving the following:
– 20+ JA Kennedy Cup wins, including an unmatched 14 year winning streak.
– Multiple County Shield and Northwest Champion of Champions titles.
– MASFL Premier Division and Division One triumphs, far too numerous to count.
In his loving memory, the Mike McKenzie Memorial Cup unites teams from across the Manchester region to battle it out. Having completed its inaugural season in 2025/26, it was Chorlton Sports and Social Club who were crowned champions, narrowly defeating Roe Cross Simmondley (2-1).
Now, as we move into the 2026/27 season, we are searching for teams who want to take part in this exciting competition, while contributing to a great cause. Last year the competition raised an incredible £1,218.67 for the British Heart Foundation!
